Complex REE systematics of carbonatites and weathering products from uniquely rich Mount Weld REE deposit, Western Australia

چکیده

Carbonatite intrusive complexes are important hosts for Rare Earth Elements (REE) deposits and commonly affected by surficial weathering processes. Mount Weld REE deposit of Western Australia is one the world’s richest here we present whole-rock mineral geochemical data on compositions primary weathered carbonatites. The concentrations in magmatic carbonatites at vary two orders magnitude, suggesting a significant role processes enrichment carbonatite complex. Th-Pb age 2056±67 (2?) Ma monazite-(Ce) from obtained situ LA-ICP-MS analyses confirm Paleoproterozoic mineralization. regolith samples preserve detailed record evolution to products intensive weathering. silica-cemented (silcrete) contains apatite chemically identical their carbonatite-hosted equivalents. high-REE containing 51.8 wt% ?REE2O3 has some highest found date, negative Ce anomaly lithogenic monazite within matrix florencite-(Ce) rhabdophane-(Nd) tubes resembling casts plant material. pronounced anomalies ferruginous cap rock (ferricrete) indicate weathering, where Ce4+ was preferential removed relative REE3+. presence paleo-plants implicates bio-assisted involved extreme fractionation. diverse processes, which occurred supergene environment Weld, have implications understanding genesis worldwide.

ree Kinds of Idealization

Philosophers of science increasingly recognize the importance of idealization: the intentional introduction of distortion into scientific theories. Yet this recognition has not yielded consensus about the nature of idealization. e literature of the past thirty years contains disparate characterizations and justifications, but little evidence of convergence towards a common position. Despite th...

Gender- and Age-Specific REE and REE/FFM Distributions in Healthy Chinese Adults

Basic data on the resting energy expenditure (REE) of healthy populations are currently rare, especially for developing countries. The aims of the present study were to describe gender- and age-specific REE distributions and to evaluate the relationships among glycolipid metabolism, eating behaviors, and REE in healthy Chinese adults. This cross-sectional survey included 540 subjects (343 women...

REE patterns of microbial carbonate and cements from Sinemurian (

Marine microbialites serve as robust seawater rare earth element and yttrium (REE+Y) proxies through many intervals of Earth history, but questions remain about the partitioning of REEs into different coeval carbonate phases, potential syn-depositional contaminants and elemental redistribution during diagenesis. Microbial carbonates, cements and background sediments were analysed for stable iso...
